Kotagede is a certain area located insouthern part of Yogyakarta. This area was traditionally the central governance of Mataram Islamic Kingdom, controlling the mid of 16th century. Today, besides seeing the ancient buildings, Kotagede is also known as sacred area, especially the grave of Panembahan Senopati, thi first king of Mataram Islam Kingdom.

2. Malioboro
Malioboro is an area existing in the heart of Yogyakarta City. The area, which is a center of shops and souvenir, is well know. In the evening, this are present lesehan offering various traditional foods of Yogyakarta.

3. Beringharjo Market
Beringharjo Market is a traditional market in Yogyakarta City. This market provides souvenirs of Yogyakarta, such as batik.

4. Borobudue Temple
Borobudur Temple which located in Magelang, central java area is the main tourist object in Yogyakarta. This is a buddist temple built in of 8th century and also one of seven wonders preserved up to now.

5. Prambanan Temple and the sorrounding
Prambana temple, which is inheritance of Hondu religion of 7th century, also one of the main tourist objects in Yogyakarta. this are including many acient temples such as Kalasan temple, Ratu boko temple, Sambisari temple, Sewu temple, and several small temples.

Yogyakarta is

a city located in Java Island. This country, aging of more that 200 years, is a country plenty of predicates city of struggle, cultural city, educational city, and tourism city are 4 of those predicates attaching in this city. Education and tourism seem to have been the icon for Yogyakarta city in developing it self as a modern city, but still the traditional nuances and value coloring tightly in its people.

1. Yogyakarta Palace

Yogyakarta Palace is the main object in Yogyakarta city, a historical building, which is the palace of sultan Hamengku Buwono X established in 1756. Yogyakarta palace, with all cultures and customs has become the soul of Yogyakarta people.

2. Tamansari

Tamansari is a water castle, which was functioned as recreational park and defense fortress. This historical bulding started to establish in the middle of 18th century.

3. Gedung Agung

Gedung Agung actually is a presidential palace used to be a dutch resident office in Yogyakarta. The building established in the year of 1842 recently is still used as Indonesia Presidential Palace and can be visited by tourists by asking license first.
